Position Summary

The Director of Finance leads core financial operations, including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Payroll, and Decision Support. This role ensures strong financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and efficient processes. You will oversee accurate financial reporting, safeguard assets, and provide insights that guide strategic and operational decisions while developing a high-performing team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • CPA designation or at least 5 years of relevant healthcare finance experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership in finance, including 3+ years in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and healthcare finance regulations
  • Experience with internal controls, compliance, and risk management
  • Proven leadership over functions such as AP, Payroll, GL, Treasury, budgeting, and reporting
  • Experience with ERP/financial systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, Strata or similar)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or Business
  • Relevant system certifications (e.g., Workday Finance or Payroll modules)
  • Experience in large healthcare organizations (e.g., $100M+ revenue)
  • Familiarity with 340B program oversight, reimbursement models, and cost reporting
  • Exposure to audits, board reporting, and debt compliance requirements
  • Experience building dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level financial presentations
  • Involvement in ERP implementations or system improvements
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing finance professionals


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across accounting, payables, payroll, treasury, and financial analytics functions
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable standards and regulations
  • Oversee general ledger integrity and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare financial statements, regulatory filings, budgets, and forecasts
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and short-term investment strategies
  • Coordinate audits and ensure readiness for external reviews
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning initiatives
  • Partner with operational and clinical leaders to provide financial insights and improve performance
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop finance team members to drive performance and engagement
  • Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all financial, regulatory, and organizational standards
