Overview:

A privately held real estate investment firm and family office with a diversified, multi‑asset investment platform is adding to their investment team! In addition to direct real estate investments, the firm also acts as a family office, investing public equities, fixed income, private equity, private credit, and alternative investments. With a long-term, fundamentals-driven approach, they offer a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where investment professionals gain exposure across asset classes and strategies.


This opportunity enables you to play a key role in evaluating and managing high-value real estate and alternative investments. You will work with a dynamic investment team, providing critical insights and supporting strategic decision-making for one of the most comprehensive portfolios in Chicago’s real estate market.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth investment due diligence and financial analysis across multiple asset classes, including real estate, equities, and alternatives.
  • Evaluate new investment opportunities by analyzing sponsor track records, deal structures, fees, and underwriting sensitivity.
  • Prepare and present quarterly reports on investment performance, fee structures, expected returns, and recommendations to the investment team.
  • Create detailed investment memos, presentations, and reports to support senior management decisions.
  • Track and evaluate the ongoing performance of portfolio investments, making and communicating adjustment recommendations.
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing investment sponsors to maximize deal flow and market intelligence.
  • Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated financial models to assess prospective investments and portfolio strategies.
  • Monitor macroeconomic trends and market conditions to identify investment risks and opportunities in the real estate sector.


Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate investment analysis and asset management, private equity, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and investment research.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex data.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, and risk management principles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially in presenting investment recommendations.


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • MBA or CFA designation.
  • Experience with complex portfolio construction, asset allocation, and monitoring macroeconomic trends.
  • Familiarity with private equity, credit, and alternative investment vehicles.
  • Established network of real estate investment sponsors and industry contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality investment memos and presentations for executive stakeholders.
