Fit is assisting a non-profit in Mobile, AL, looking for a results-driven, relationship-focused leader to drive their fundraising and community engagement efforts. In this role, you’ll lead events, secure donor support, and elevate the mission through strategic communications and media outreach.

Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate all aspects of special fundraising events
- Solicit event sponsors and coordinate event volunteers
- Write letters and proposals to request funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations
- Meet with individuals, organizations, and groups to solicit financial support
- Produce and distribute a quarterly newsletter
- Collaborate with local media to maximize publicity for the organization’s mission, accomplishments, and events
- Solicit corporate and business support for special projects
- Assist the Executive Director with community relations efforts, including public speaking and attending meetings
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to achieve fundraising and public relations goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of successful development-related experience (preferably in the Mobile area)
- Experience in private fundraising and public relations
- Proven ability to solicit private charitable contributions
- Strong track record of working effectively with volunteers and groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with media is a plus
- Positive and optimistic attitude toward the organization’s mission and development goals
