The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.
The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.
The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.
The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.
Data Management and Operations Automation is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our employees, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.
The Data Management Senior Consultant (3 roles) within the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Business Enablement team will partner with senior leaders from various organizational levels such as Business teams across Wells Faro, Chief Data Office, Data Management Operations Automation (DMOA), Technology, Corporate Functions and the lines of business to enable agility in delivery of business use cases on EDL platform. The role will drive BDL project integration to both deliver new capabilities within several EDL products and also enable maximize use of the capabilities as they are delivered.
The Senior Data Management Consultant will lead efforts to collaborate with the business partners to identify and deliver the business use case. The role will also be responsible for socialization of the capabilities within the enterprise, providing training, and holding knowledge sharing sessions and working closely with the WF Technology teams to enable the business use cases.
Position #1: Business Enablement (2 positions)
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with relevant stakeholders and technology team to create, manage a robust product planning & execution model that focus on delivering end user capability with digital agility.
- Collaborate and coordinate with executives and key leaders to leverage EDL capabilities in driving business outcomes
- Partner with BDL representatives to ensure BDL project integration and partnering in pilot testing with champion use case.
- Understand requirements of LOB partners of data, analytics and reporting to inform technology and EDL Product Owners to enable capability delivery needs of the product.
- Partner to develop and maintain a capability roadmap for the various capabilities (ingestion, integration, consumption, etc.) with rigorous investment analysis that is consistent with our holistic data strategy to meet business needs using value delivery approach, and informed by current business needs and emerging technology trends.
- Partner with peers in Data Management & Insights (DMI) and Enterprise IT as the conduit to SMEs within the Line of Business.
Position #2: Business Production Data Operations (1 position)
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Technology and Business teams to ensure that there is seamless communication flowing as part of supporting the Wells Fargo Enterprise Data Lake. To ensure the strategic Lake environment monitoring and support, along with communication is seamless
- Implement and manage a variety of Monitoring mechanism to continuously monitor the health of the Lake and communicate proactively to the wider Business End users of the lake about the impact of any outages
- Managing proactive and regular status check of various data streams ingested into the Lake and communicate planned and unplanned outages across all stakeholders at Wells Fargo, escalating roadblocks as necessary
- Participate in and author communications around Lake related health reports and publish status on a recurring basis, to ensure stakeholders are updated. Setup an SLA and operations monitoring and support setup
- Collaborate and coordinate with executives and key leaders to leverage EDL capabilities in driving business outcomes as well as drive key operational metrics to track and prevent outages
- Partner with business and technology teams as the conduit to SMEs within the Line of Business.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis
- 5+ years of data warehouse experience
- 2+ years of SQL experience
- 3+ years of Hadoop experience
- 5 + years of experience gathering business requirements from various sources including end-users and stakeholders
- 5+ years of experience conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting

- A BS/BA degree or higher
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
Other Desired Qualifications - Experience working for and/or supporting Financial Services clients
- Aware of latest capabilities such as Dremio, atScale, BigData, BI Analytics (Tableau, PowerBI)
- Experience with data management best practices and disciplines including data governance, data architecture, data quality, analytics and business intelligence,
- Experience delivering successful end user experiences through capabilities
- Experience defining, documenting, and implementing business requirements, policies, procedures and processes
- Experience in launching and running complex programs using Agile Scrum and Waterfall delivery teams
- Experience with Banking Finance, Risk, Regulatory Reporting data platforms and technologies
- Broad financial expertise with knowledge of corporate affairs, financial and product fundamentals, and business policies, products, processes, systems, and roles
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to engage and influence senior technology and business executives
- Strong expertise in cultivating authentic Executive relationships and delivering formal change management across diverse business areas
- Experience presenting to Operating Committee Members, Boards and on Industry Forums
