About the Role
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to support customer operations, order coordination, shipment tracking, and account support within a fast-paced industrial and logistics-driven environment.
This role serves as a key liaison between customers and internal departments including operations, logistics, sales, finance, and customer support teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple customer requests, orders, and operational tasks simultaneously while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with full-time hours. Candidates will initially work through the staffing program with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries through phone, email, and internal systems in a professional and timely manner
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while delivering excellent customer service and support
- Process customer orders accurately within CRM and order management systems
- Track shipments, coordinate deliveries, and manage inbound return requests
- Coordinate shipping documentation, order updates, and operational communication across departments
- Serve as a liaison between customers, operations, logistics, sales, finance, and internal support teams
- Maintain detailed and organized records of customer interactions and account activity
- Support customers by navigating multiple systems including CRM platforms, order entry systems, email, browsers, and Microsoft Office applications
- Resolve customer concerns and provide timely solutions with strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Review customer requests for accuracy and ensure proper order processing and documentation
- Assist with customer account coordination, balances, and payment communication when needed
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring customer issues and operational challenges
- Manage multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced operational environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of customer service, order management, logistics coordination, account support, or operational support experience preferred
- Previous experience within industrial, manufacturing, HVAC, logistics, supply chain, or technical service environments strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, solution-oriented, and team-focused mindset
Technical Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer systems required
- Experience with CRM systems, order management systems, ERP platforms, or logistics software preferred
- Strong data entry and documentation accuracy
- Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems simultaneously
Work Environment
- Office-based work environment
- Onsite preferred in Champaign, IL
- Remote flexibility may be considered for candidates within a commutable distance
- Frequent computer use and customer communication throughout the day
- Sedentary office work with occasional light lifting up to 15 pounds
