Must-Have Requirements

  • Credentials: Active CPA license (State of MA) or an active JD/Law license
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in Corporate Compliance and ASC 740 provisions, including preparation, review, and audit support.
  • Professional Background: Recent experience in Public Accounting with a Top 15 firm or a large regional firm.
  • Client Scope: Direct experience supporting large, multi-state, national, or global companies.
  • Experience Level: Minimum 4 to 7 years of progressive tax compliance or consulting experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.


Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP) software.
  • Education: Advanced degrees (Master's in Tax or LLM) are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in US GAAP, state and local income taxes (SALT), international activity, and transfer pricing.

The Role & Responsibilities

As a Corporate Tax Manager, you will be a key member of the tax practice, focusing on business income tax planning and ASC 740 accounting projects.

  • Engagement Leadership: Run client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, and directing tax projects while managing budgets.
  • Technical Review: Conduct primary reviews of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements and tax returns, providing recommendations for accuracy and tax savings.
  • Team Development: Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates and interns, assessing performance and performing the "in-charge" role as needed.
  • Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with client management and staff at all levels to understand business objectives and gather critical information.
  • Strategic Research: Research and consult on various tax matters and respond to inquiries from the IRS, State, and other tax authorities.

Additional Details

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid environment; must be willing to work in-office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Locations: Opportunities available in Boston, MA or Hartford, CT.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed for client engagements.
  • Salary Range: $121,000 – $181,000
