A highly successful $1B revenue distribution business outside of State College, PA is in pursuit of their next Controller.
This is a career-defining opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who wants to step into a visible, high-impact role with true influence over financial operations and modernization initiatives. This is not a “keep-the-books” position—the Controller reports directly to the CFO and is viewed as a strategic partner to the business.

Over the next 18–24 months, the Controller will:
- Lead and develop a tenured accounting team responsible for GL, AP, and AR
- Serve as the primary liaison with external CPA partners for audits, reviews, and technical accounting matters
- Drive and influence financial systems modernization, including evaluation of tools, workflows, and internal controls
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting while improving scalability and efficiency
- Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership on operational and strategic financial initiatives
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Manage GAAP-compliant financial reporting and internal controls
- Lead audit coordination and technical accounting discussions
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and accounting processes
- Coach, mentor, and retain a high-performing accounting team
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing insights that support decision-making

Ideal Background
- Proven Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
- Strong foundation in GAAP, audits, and financial reporting
- BS Accounting required, CPA highly preferred
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without ego
- Comfortable operating in a complex, high-volume environment
