Controller/Operations Manager

IMH Healthcare is a strategy and operations healthcare consulting firm that helps healthcare organizations transform how facilities and services are planned, launched, and operated—from master planning through first patient day. 

Based in Indianapolis, IMH Healthcare works with health systems across the United States and internationally. As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a Controller / Business Manager who will play a key role in strengthening financial oversight, operational performance measurement, and strategic decision-making.

The Controller / Business Manager oversees the financial and operational management of the firm while supporting data‑driven decision making.

This role goes beyond traditional accounting responsibilities and includes development and monitoring of key operational metrics including:

• Project financial performance 

• Consulting team utilization 

• Revenue and margin by project 

• Revenue per FTE 

• Firm‑level profitability metrics

• Oversee accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and tax regulations

• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions

• Track financial performance of consulting projects

• Monitor project revenue, cost, and margin

• Develop dashboards showing project profitability

• Support project pricing through financial modeling

• Partner with consulting leadership on project forecasting

Develop and maintain reporting including:

• Team utilization (billable vs non‑billable)

• Utilization by consultant and project

• Revenue per FTE

• Project profitability

• Firm operational performance dashboards

• Provide financial insights to leadership

• Analyze profitability of services and engagements

• Support expansion initiatives

• Assist with development of firm‑wide KPIs

• Work with consulting leadership on financial performance

• Coordinate with HR on compensation and payroll oversight

• Manage finance staff as the firm grows

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

• 7+ years financial management experience

• Experience with project‑based businesses

• Strong GAAP knowledge

Preferred:

• CPA or MBA

• Experience in consulting or healthcare organizations

• Experience building operational dashboards
