Position: Controller / Director of Finance
Location: Remote (Texas Residents Only)
Job Type: Full-time
Travel Required: Approximately 25 to 50%
Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

Position Summary: In general, this position will be responsible for supporting multiple clients through “down and dirty” balance sheet account reconciliations, client onboarding and set up, financial statement preparation and review, policy development, budget development, cash flow forecasting and presenting financial statements to executives and boards. Our system leverages multiple technology platforms, and candidates must be comfortable learning and using technology.
We have adopted a virtual office, and this position will work remotely but travel is required. This position will work under the direction of the CFO/Director of Accounting Services and will work collaboratively with other senior staff.
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage and support multiple clients in a fast-paced environment
- Perform and oversee detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and general journal entries.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
- Support audit preparation and serve as a key liaison with external auditors
- Develop operating budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections
- Interface directly with client leadership, staff, and professional service providers
- Present financial information to CEO’s, board of directors, executive committees and finance committees.
- Review, develop and revise financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Provide exceptional customer service and act as a trusted financial advisor to clients.
- All other duties that are necessary for the success of our clients and CFO by design
Required Qualifications: This position will have a significant impact on our growing, fast-paced organization. The ideal candidate possesses:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience
- Strong understanding of balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and deferred revenue
- Proven ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences
- Experience supporting audits; experience with 501(c)(6) organizations is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct required, with experiencing building dashboards and reports highly preferred.
- Experience with multi-entity environments preferred
- High level of comfort working across multiple technology platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Willingness and ability to travel as required (approximately 25–50%)
