Salary: $110,000-$135,000 base

Position Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of industrial automation and control systems. This role is responsible for delivering high-performance, reliable control solutions while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and software teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in PLC/HMI programming, system integration, and industrial networking, along with strong project leadership capabilities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design and develop control systems architecture for industrial equipment and automation systems
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial robotics
  • Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and I/O lists
  • Lead system integration, testing, and commissioning activities (on-site and remote)
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and project scope
  • Support proposal development, cost estimation, and technical documentation
  • Diagnose and resolve complex field issues and implement long-term corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system performance and reliability


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial controls and automation
  • Strong expertise with PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA development
  • Proficiency in industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, etc.)
  • Experience with motion control, servo systems, and VFD integration
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as required
