Job Title: Contract Conformance Specialist

Location: Location: Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB or Houston, TX

Duration: 12+ Month


One of our Direct client is hiring two Contract Conformance Specialists for a newly formed Contract Center within supply chain management, with positions available in Edmonton AB, Calgary AB, or Houston TX


Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience managing complex contracts, specifically red lines and terms & conditions
  • Strong experience with master service agreements, engineering services agreements, and construction agreements
  • Vendor contract experience required - all contracts are with vendors to ***
  • Excellent written skills, reading comprehension, and communication abilities
  • Legal background or experience working with legal teams preferred but not required
  • Supply chain experience preferred, though contracting experience in other departments acceptable if working with vendors
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred but not mandatory depending on candidate mix


Role Differentiation

  • One position: Must have materials and services experience (not just materials)
  • Second position: Services-focused only


Team Structure

  • Newly formed department within supply chain management called the Contract Center
  • Team will consist of approximately 6 people total, including 3 senior-level roles
  • Reports to same manager regardless of Canada or US location
  • Vision to expand and absorb all red line work across supply chain within 12 months


Scope of Work

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage red lines and negotiations on complex agreements only
  • Focus exclusively on terms and conditions, not commercial negotiations
  • Work with legal team, business counterparts, and construction commercial negotiators
  • Fast-paced role requiring flexibility as processes are established


System Requirements

  • Oracle Cloud used for contract repository but may change by year-end
  • Training provided on tools once implemented
  • Adaptability to new technologies more important than specific software experience
  • No current system for managing red lines and contracting arrangements


Interview Process

  • Two rounds: Initial preliminary round followed by shortlist and second round interviews
