Our client, a leading AmLaw firm with offices across the US, are looking to grow their litigation team in New York City at the Associate and Of Counsel level. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney with substantial litigation experience who is eager to build a long term career with a collaborative and high performing team.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage cases in insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, and NYS Labor Law construction matters.
- Regularly conduct & defend depositions, handle court appearances, and motion practice. Effectively prepare and examine witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation and strong representation of clients.
- Collaborate with attorneys, team members, and seasoned Partners on high-impact legal projects, contributing to a collaborative, results-driven environment.
Qualifications
- Civil or commercial litigation experience, ideally with any of NYS Labor Law construction matters, general liability and auto/transportation liability.
- Understanding of NY Labor Law §§200, 240, 241 and experience with OSHA proceedings are a plus.
- Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school.
- Must be admitted in New York.
- Proficiency in managing complex litigation from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing.
