Commercial Real Estate Litigation Paralegal (Litigation & Enforcement)

A National commercial real estate owner and operator seeking a Commercial Real Estate Litigation Paralegal to support lease enforcement, litigation, tenant collections, bankruptcy, and recovery efforts across a portfolio of retail properties.
This position will serve as a key liaison between property operations, accounting, outside counsel, and tenants, managing matters from initial default through resolution. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting commercial real estate, landlord-tenant, litigation, collections, bankruptcy, foreclosure, or creditors’ rights matters and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Lease Enforcement & Collections
- Prepare and issue demand letters, default notices, payment agreements, settlement documentation, and related correspondence
- Communicate with tenants, attorneys, and internal stakeholders regarding delinquent accounts and recovery efforts
- Track payment arrangements, settlements, and account status updates
- Assist with resolving billing disputes and collection-related matters
- Review lease provisions and supporting documentation related to tenant defaults and recovery efforts
- Support pre-litigation collection efforts and recommend escalation strategies when appropriate
Litigation & Bankruptcy Support
- Draft, review, and coordinate legal documents including pleadings, motions, complaints, affidavits, claims, and supporting exhibits
- Prepare materials for court filings, hearings, and trial support
- Monitor litigation deadlines, hearings, court appearances, and case developments
- Coordinate with outside counsel and internal business teams to manage active matters efficiently
- Assist with bankruptcy filings, claims, and related recovery efforts
- Support post-judgment enforcement and asset recovery activities
Case & Matter Management
- Maintain organized legal files, databases, and matter tracking systems
- Conduct asset, business entity, and public records research to support enforcement efforts
- Prepare legal correspondence, internal reports, and matter status updates
- Review legal and case documents and make recommendations for next steps
- Manage legal mail, court filings, and related administrative processes
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience as a Paralegal, Litigation Paralegal, Legal Collections Specialist, Creditors’ Rights Paralegal, Bankruptcy Paralegal, Foreclosure Paralegal, or similar legal professional
- Experience supporting litigation, collections, enforcement, bankruptcy, foreclosure, landlord-tenant, or commercial real estate matters
- Strong understanding of court procedures, legal drafting, filings, and document management
- Experience coordinating with attorneys, courts, external agencies, and business stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems
Preferred
- Commercial real estate, retail real estate, landlord-tenant, lease enforcement, or property-related litigation experience
- Experience supporting collections, recovery, creditors’ rights, or post-judgment enforcement matters
- Prior law firm, REIT, property management, or corporate legal department experience
- Paralegal certificate, degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field
