Medical Laboratory Technologist / CLS / MLT (Evening Shift | Direct Hire)

💰 Pay: $31.49 – $45.00/hour (based on certification & experience) + $3.25 weekend differential

Overview

A healthcare facility is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MLT/MT/MLS/CLS) to join a high-volume clinical laboratory team. This role focuses on core laboratory testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation, with limited Microbiology/Serology.


This is a strong opportunity for both experienced technologists and new graduates looking to build clinical lab experience in a structured, supportive environment.


Schedule

  • 8-hour shifts (currently 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
  • Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends, holidays, call, or standby)
  • Schedules assigned based on staffing needs (2–4 weeks in advance)


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation
  • Support limited Microbiology and Serology testing (no Blood Bank)
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and ensure quality control compliance
  • Accurately document and report results using laboratory systems
  • Collaborate with a small, fast-paced lab team
  • Follow all safety and regulatory laboratory standards


Systems & Equipment

  • Cerner PathNet (LIS)
  • PowerChart (EMR)
  • Siemens analyzers (Chemistry)
  • Clinitech (Urinalysis)
  • Sysmex (Hematology)


Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of lab experience required (travel experience preferred but not required)
  • Open to new graduates
  • Strong knowledge in core lab areas (Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation)
  • Reliable, adaptable, and quick to learn


Certification & Education

  • Must hold MLT, MT, MLS, or CLS certification (ASCP or AMT accepted)
  • Must have relevant degree OR be eligible for certification exam
  • California roles require CLS certification


Additional Details

  • No phlebotomy required
  • 2–3 weeks department training provided
  • Supervisors primarily on day shift
  • Any professional scrub color allowed (no surgical greens)
