Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology
• American Society for Clinical Pathology - Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in Microbiology
• Full ID and workups for urine, throat, wound, and blood cultures.
• ASCP Specialty Certification Required
• Experience with Microscan DXM 1040 (Walkaway) system is highly preferred.
• Prefer some Core Lab experience as well.

Position Overview:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens in all sections of Clinical Laboratory at an elevated level as a true generalist to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease and exercises independent judgment when evaluating the validity of test results prior to result reporting. Operates and calibrates all equipment in the area of specialization, evaluates the validity of laboratory data, records test results, communicates with physician, pathologists and nursing staff regarding test procedures and results.

Available Shifts:

1. Full time, Day Shift (7am) Microbiology Medical Laboratory Scientist or Microbiology Medical Laboratory Technician. 4-10’s with rotating schedule (rotational weekends). Prefer individual with core lab experience as well.

1. Full time, Night Shift Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician. Shift is rotational with 3-12’s one week, 9:00pm to 9:00am, followed by 4 10’s the next, 9:30pm to 7:30am.
