Job Summary

We are hiring a Buyer II to join our Centralized Branch Services team in Dallas. This is a hands-on purchasing role where you will own inventory decisions, keep product flowing to branches, and work closely with vendors to make sure our customers never feel a gap in service.


Essential Job Functions

  • Execute purchasing strategies that align with inventory goals and company policies.
  • Manage purchase orders from placement through delivery, including tracking and expediting shipments.
  • Maintain accurate product and pricing data.
  • Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, and safety stock to keep fill rates high.
  • Review stock reports and adjust purchasing decisions based on what the data is telling you.
  • Resolve shipping errors, damaged goods, and pricing discrepancies quickly and thoroughly.
  • Manage returns and work through obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
  • Keep internal teams in the loop on product, pricing, and vendor changes.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships that hold up when things get complicated.
  • Partner with the Purchasing Manager on pricing negotiations, terms, and supply agreements.
  • Collaborate across teams to keep operations running without friction.


Education/Experience

  • 2+ years of purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.


Competencies

  • Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving.
  • Clear communicator who keeps people informed without overcomplicating things.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a role that moves quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory systems is a plus.

Physical Demands
