Our mission is to power the future of American manufacturing by improving safety, efficiency, and productivity through automation. From concept to commissioning, we deliver proven solutions that keep factories running smarter, safer, and more competitively.
What are we looking for?
The Business Development Manager will own the full sales cycle -- from prospecting and lead qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close. This role is a strong fit for a consultative, driven seller who thrives in a technical environment and wants to grow alongside a fast-moving company.
What you'll do:
• Prospect and qualify new business opportunities through outbound outreach, referrals, industry connections, trade shows, and inbound leads
• Lead discovery to understand customer workflows, pain points, and automation objectives
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to develop proposals, scopes of work, and ROI- based presentations
• Present MAG's capabilities -- AMR/AGV systems, fleet management software, and intralogistics integration to stakeholders at all levels
• Own the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and project scope in alignment with company objectives
• Meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets and activity benchmarks
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide reliable pipeline forecasts
• Build long-term relationships with existing customers to drive retention and expansion
• Serve as the primary customer contact during pre-project and post-sale phases
• Represent MAG at industry events, customer sites, and trade shows as needed
• Perform other work as required
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of prior B2B sales experience (industrial, technical, or capital equipment preferred)
• Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
• Strong verbal and written communication skills -- comfortable presenting to plant managers, engineers, and executives
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
• Proficiency with MS Office and CRM software
• Willingness to travel up to 30-50% to customer facilities and industry events
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:
• Experience selling automation, robotics, material handling, or systems integration solutions
• Familiarity with AMR, AGV, or warehouse/fleet management technologies
• Background working with OEM, Tier 1/2 automotive suppliers or large industrial manufacturers
• Knowledge of ROI-based selling methodologies
• Technical writing skills or experience developing proposals and scopes of work
Benefits
• Competitive base salary with uncapped commission
• Full health, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) with Safe Harbor match and profit sharing
• Mileage and travel reimbursement
• Unlimited PTO
• Performance bonuses evaluated three times annually
• Direct access to leadership with real influence over company direction
• Exposure to cutting-edge AMR, AGV, and fleet management technologies
• Opportunity for advancement as MAG scales across new verticals and geographies
