Coffey Modica LLP is seeking a talented and motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing Auto / Transportation practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience handling transportation, trucking, automobile liability, and general insurance defense matters and will be looking to grow their litigation career in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators on high exposure matters from inception through trial.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, and trial preparation
- Handle transportation, trucking, automobile liability, and related insurance defense matters
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the court
- Conduct legal research and draft reports, motions, and legal memoranda
- Work collaboratively with attorneys across offices and practice groups
Qualifications
- Admitted to practice in New York
- 2–5 years of litigation experience preferred
- Experience in transportation, automobile liability, trucking, or insurance defense preferred
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage a caseload while working in a team-oriented environment
- Trial and deposition experience is a plus
