Position Summary:
Main Street Auto is seeking a motivated attorney (1–3 years of experience) to join our in-house legal team, with a primary focus on litigation and dispute management. This role will partner closely with our Associate General Counsel, who leads contract and transactional matters, by taking ownership of the company’s litigation portfolio and helping manage outside counsel relationships.
This is an opportunity for a junior attorney with a litigation background to transition in-house and gain broad exposure to legal strategy, risk management, and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support all aspects of the company’s litigation and dispute matters, including:
- Responding to complaints, subpoenas, and demand letters
- Assisting with case strategy, filings, and discovery processes
- Coordinating with and overseeing outside counsel
- Evaluate legal risks and provide practical, business-oriented advice to internal stakeholders
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on litigation-related issues
- Support internal investigations and pre-litigation dispute resolution efforts
- Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, Operations, etc.) on issues that may lead to litigation exposure
- Assist in developing and improving internal processes to mitigate legal risk
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Georgia (required)
- 1–3 years of litigation experience (law firm or relevant in-house experience)
- Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and case management
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, business-focused mindset
- Exposure to employment, commercial, or general liability litigation
- Interest in transitioning to an in-house legal environment
