Associate Corporate Counsel

Epitec is seeking an experienced Associate Corporate Counsel to join our automotive client's team. As an Associate Corporate Counsel, the candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting a major automotive organization by advising on commercial, product, and technology-driven legal matters.


  • This is a 6-month W2 contract with potential for conversion/extension
  • This is a hybrid opening - 3 days onsite required (Preferred locations: Michigan, Georgia, or California)
  • This position offers $56.25/hour and medical/retirement contributions (if desired)


Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to engineering, product, and business teams to ensure legal considerations are embedded in technology and product development
  • Negotiate, draft, and review commercial and technology-related agreements, including licensing, vendor, services, NDAs, development, procurement, proofs of concept, and technology transfer agreements
  • Advise on intellectual property matters, including protection, commercialization, and licensing
  • Support data privacy and security compliance related to products and services, including GDPR and CCPA considerations
  • Provide guidance on employment law matters, including employee relations, investigations, and workplace policies
  • Support litigation activities such as fact gathering, coordination with outside counsel, litigation strategy development, and internal tracking
  • Advise on legal issues related to AI and emerging technologies, including ethical considerations, regulatory developments, and risk assessments
  • Conduct legal research on new and emerging legal issues impacting the business
  • Provide general corporate legal support across compliance, governance, operations, and corporate policies


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (California, Michigan, or Georgia preferred)
  • Strong commercial contracting and tech transactions experience
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical, business-focused advice
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities
  • Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Comfortable supporting cross-functional teams, including engineering and product organizations
  • Exposure to or familiarity with litigation support
  • Interest in or experience with data privacy, AI, and emerging technology issues
  • Technical background not required, but willingness to quickly learn relevant software, hardware, and product concepts
