Assistant Property Manager – Retail Portfolio

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid Schedule)


Our client, a well-established, owner-operated real estate investment and management firm, is seeking a Senior Assistant Property Manager to support a portfolio of retail shopping centers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded organization with a strong ownership presence and long-term investment strategy. Retail property experience is required for this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Property Manager in the day-to-day operations of a retail portfolio, including shopping centers and retail assets
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for tenants, ensuring strong relationships and a high level of service across retail environments
  • Assist with lease administration, including abstracts, renewals, co-tenancy tracking, and critical date management
  • Coordinate maintenance, vendors, and service contracts, ensuring work orders are completed efficiently with minimal disruption to tenants and customers
  • Review and code invoices; assist with budgeting, forecasting, CAM reconciliations, and variance reporting
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes for retail assets
  • Conduct routine property inspections to ensure asset appearance, safety, and operational standards are maintained
  • Assist with tenant build-outs, retail turnovers, and capital improvement projects
  • Partner closely with vendors, tenants, and internal teams to support daily operations and overall asset performance

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial property management experience, specifically within retail shopping centers or retail properties
  • Strong understanding of retail lease administration, including CAM, co-tenancy, and tenant relations
  • Experience supporting institutional-quality retail assets preferred
  • Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, MRI, or similar)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, tenant-focused environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
