Position Summary
The Area HR Manager serves as a strategic HR partner supporting multiple locations and business units within a designated region. This role provides guidance on employee relations, compliance, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness while partnering with leadership to drive business objectives and foster a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR Managers and Generalists.
- Partner with business leaders to align HR strategies with operational goals.
- Provide guidance and coaching on employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions for employee issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Review and advise on disciplinary actions, terminations, reductions in force, and other employment decisions.
- Analyze workforce trends and metrics to improve engagement, retention, and business performance.
- Support labor relations activities, including contract interpretation, grievance resolution, and collective bargaining as needed.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and shared services teams to deliver effective HR programs and solutions.
- Participate in special projects, training initiatives, and organizational change efforts.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
- PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a strategic HR Business Partner or HR Management role.
- Strong employee relations experience, including investigations and policy interpretation.
- Experience supporting multiple locations or business units in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with both non-union and unionized workforces preferred.
