This Apps Systems Engineer will be providing support to Retail Mainframe Development for Hogan CAMS II. This mid-level engineer will:

  • Provide technical consultation and support in the development of computer applications and programs.
  • Analyze business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign computer solutions.
  • Develop original and/or complex code or provides coding guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
  • Participate in overall systems testing.
  • Support the migration of applications to production.
  • Develop new documentation, participates in the development of department technical procedures and designs user guides.
  • Act as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting for resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.
  • Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of Cobol experience
  • 5+ years of mainframe experience
  • 2+ years of batch processing support and troubleshooting experience


Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years of source or version control tools experience
  • Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities


Job Expectations

  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
  • Ability to work on call as assigned
