We are looking for a talented Software Engineer that is a highly enthusiastic team player to join a team of data enthusiasts on the MSE Reporting Team. The ideal candidate would be interested in data and look for different ways to tell the story with data, and possess excellent analytical skills in finding patterns and looking for anomalies and calling them out. The Data Engineer will work on collecting, storing, processing and visualizing huge sets of data. The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes, then maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them. You will also be responsible for integrating them with the architecture used across the team, and the Digital Channels Technology group.

Some duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Documenting customer requirements and development strategy
- Build interactive visualizations and reports to tell a story with data using tools like Tableau
- Monitoring/Alerting application performance with Splunk, Oracle and Tableau reporting tools.
- Loading data to Oracle database.
- Performing analysis and visualization of data levering Tableau, Splunk and other visualization tools.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis
  • 2 + years of Tableau Dashboard development experience
  • 3+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata
  • 2+ years of advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, Perl, Python, Java, or PL-SQL


Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 2 + years of experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • 1 + years of experience with Elasticsearch development, integration or support
  • 2 + years of machine learning experience


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience designing and managing Splunk Dashboards, reports, lookup tables, and summary indexes, including Splunk SPL
  • 2+ years of experience with using Grafana to build dashboards
