Accounts Receivable Specialist

Position Overview:


We are looking for a proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist who can take ownership of billing and collections while helping to strengthen overall cash flow. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can confidently manage customer accounts while building positive working relationships.



Key Responsibilities


  • Generate and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner
  • Apply incoming payments (ACH, wire, check, credit card) to customer accounts
  • Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Lead collections efforts while maintaining strong, professional customer relationships
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and disputes
  • Reconcile customer accounts and ensure records are accurate and up to date
  • Prepare aging reports and support month-end close activities
  • Partner with internal teams (sales, billing, and finance) to resolve account issues and improve processes


Qualifications


  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, aging, and cash application
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables a plus)
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines


Preferred Skills


  • Experience in a high-volume or fast-paced environment
  • Exposure to credit analysis or risk assessment
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, healthcare, or professional services
