About the Job

Reporting directly to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the Accounts Receivable Specialist role is a high‑visibility, high‑impact leadership role within the Finance Department at TFI USA.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and submit invoices through ERP and customer-required channels (EDI, email, mail).
  • Confirm shipment details (BOL, quantities, pricing, margins) and minimize delayed billing.
  • Respond to internal and external billing inquiries promptly.
  • Create manual billings for returns, credits, and adjustments.
  • Send daily margin reports to Sales and Management.
  • Manage and resolve customer deductions:
  • Gather and analyze deduction documentation.
  • Approve valid deductions or route for approval.
  • Dispute invalid deductions via email or customer portals and follow through to resolution.
  • Collaborate with Sales to resolve uncollectible items.
  • Maintain accurate AR records and document retention.
  • Support month-end close and provide audit documentation.
  • Post daily cash, reconcile payments, clear discrepancies, and manage suspense items.
  • Prepare cash receipt reporting and assist with daily cash management.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and continuously identify process improvements.
  • Cross-train and support other AR functions.
  • Maintain professional communication and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.


Requirements/Education/Experience/Skills)

  • 3-5 years of Accounts Receivable experience (food industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills required.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • High school diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Strong math and organizational skills.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to follow company policies and safety requirements (including pre-employment drug screening).
  • Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
  • Collaborating for others and participating in a positive work environment.
  • Superb time management and detail orientation
  • Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel

Hourly Range: $24.00 – $29.00 per hour

This range represents the expected base hourly rate for this position. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, and other factors. This role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
