We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting financial operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, verify, and prepare invoices, expense reports, and outgoing payments (checks, ACH, etc.)
- Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor issues
- Respond to vendor and internal inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Verify proper authorization for invoices, purchase orders, and credit card transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting audits
- Maintain and update records related to accounts payable functions
- Ensure compliance with established accounts payable procedures
- Assist with process improvements and implementation of new systems (ERP/MRP)
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage employee EP records
- Cross-train in other accounting functions and provide backup support as needed
- Support administrative and special accounting projects as assigned
- Professionally answer and route incoming phone calls.
- Welcome and assist visitors in a professional manner.
- Support Human Resources with administrative tasks.
- Provide administrative support for general office operations, including filing, document management, and coordination of office activities.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field optional
Experience:
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable or bookkeeping experience required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, or other MRP/ERP systems)

Work Environment
