Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support the accuracy and efficiency of our day-to-day financial operations.

This role focuses on AP/AR management, reconciliations, accounting documentation, and month-end support, working closely with our Korea HQ Accounting team and U.S. external accounting firm.

In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining clean and reliable financial data by preparing schedules, organizing documentation, and supporting key accounting processes. You will also contribute to improving workflows and helping build scalable systems as the company continues to grow.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and enjoys a hands-on, operations-meets-accounting role. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented but business-minded, enjoys improving processes—not just executing them—and is comfortable collaborating across teams while taking ownership of their work. This role offers meaningful responsibility and growth, without requiring full ownership of the monthly close cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Accounting Operations

  • Process and record daily transactions (AP, AR, cash receipts, credit card charges, reimbursements).
  • Manage vendor invoices, payment scheduling, and customer billing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and customer master data.

Reconciliations & Close Support

  • Prepare and own journal entry support, accrual schedules, and monthly reconciliation worksheets.
  • Support and execute month-end and quarter-end close preparation in coordination with HQ Accounting and the external accounting firm.
  • Prepare and manage supporting documentation for financial statements (external firm performs the official close).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with operations, logistics, and marketing teams to accurately record COGS, freight, promotional spend, and operational expenses.
  • Coordinate with Korea HQ to assist with cross-border settlements, intercompany balances, and required supporting documents.
  • Communicate regularly with the external accounting firm to ensure smooth workflows and timely submissions.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Organize and maintain accounting documentation for audits, tax filings, and internal controls.
  • Support sales tax filings, 1099 documentation, and compliance tasks (external firm leads; this role provides inputs).
  • Support improvements in accounting processes, ERP systems, and automation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience (beauty/CPG/startup preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and common accounting workflows.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or other cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Professional proficiency in both English and Korean is required.

Our Benefits

  • Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), company holidays, and Paid Sick Leave, as well as performance-based and discretionary bonuses.
  • Part-time employees may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy.
