Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in maintaining accurate and compliant day-to-day accounting operations during an SAP S/4HANA implementation. This position supports continuity across both SAP S/4HANA and a legacy Microsoft Dynamics system, ensuring transactional accuracy, timely close, and strong internal controls. The role is hands-on, operationally focused, and expected to evolve into a long-term leadership position following the successful system transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate effectively within a dual ERP environment, supporting SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Dynamics
- Manage and support the monthly close process, including balance sheet and P&L analysis
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Maintain fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and reconciliations
- Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Support SAP implementation activities including system testing, data validation, and process alignment
- Prepare and document accounting procedures and process flowcharts for both SAP and legacy systems
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, IT, and Supply Chain teams
- Maintain a professional, collaborative work environment that supports performance standards
- Provide operational accounting coverage throughout the ERP transition period
- Perform additional duties as required to support accounting leadership and system implementation needs
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Active CPA credential
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and managerial experience
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas
- Proven experience managing month-end close within a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP ERP systems
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or dual-system accounting environments
- Ability to report to company facilities as needed, including same-day notice
Preferred:
- MBA credential
- SAP S/4HANA experience
- Manufacturing or regulated manufacturing industry background
