Accounting Manager – Non Profit Organization

LHH is working with an NPO who is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls within a mission‑driven organization. This role will manage the monthly close process, supervise accounting staff, ensure accuracy and compliance, and partner closely with leadership on financial reporting and operational improvements.

The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, experience managing people and processes, and the ability to operate in a regulated or fund‑based environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting
Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and internal controls
Supervise and develop accounting staff
Support audits, compliance, and regulatory reporting
Drive process improvements and reporting efficiency

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
Strong GAAP knowledge and close experience
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
