Role Summary
The Manager, Practice Accounting will report to a Director of Practice Accounting. This role requires a results-driven individual with a strong foundation in technical accounting, excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and physician practice leadership. A natural curiosity and desire to continuously learn are essential.
This is a high-visibility role responsible for overseeing a team of 4–8 Staff and Senior Accountants supporting accrual-based accounting functions across a regional portfolio of 2–3 partnered physician practices. Responsibilities include leading and coordinating the monthly close process, ensuring accurate accounting across all practices, performing and documenting technical accounting research, ensuring proper revenue recognition, and analyzing financial trends.
The Manager will partner closely with financial operations, operations, treasury, and corporate accounting teams to develop appropriate accounting positions and evaluate transactions in accordance with US GAAP.
This position offers significant exposure to senior leadership, including the Director of Practice Accounting, VP of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer, as well as collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents of Operations. The role also interfaces regularly with Revenue Cycle Management and Data & Analytics teams and serves as a key point of contact for practice leadership, including administrators and physicians.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with physician practice leadership to support accurate financial reporting and accountability
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Staff and Senior Accountants, including training, coaching, and performance feedback
Present financial and accounting insights to executive leadership, including the CFO and finance leaders
Oversee multiple practice accounting teams, each consisting of staff and senior accountants
Partner with practice leadership and financial operations to identify and resolve business and accounting issues
Lead the timely preparation and review of month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, consolidations, and financial reporting
Coordinate monthly financial statement reviews with financial operations and regional leadership
Collaborate with corporate accounting on the implementation of new accounting standards, processes, and policies
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results (P&L and balance sheet) in accordance with US GAAP
Identify process improvement opportunities and drive implementation of enhancements
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of accounting staff
Assist with performance evaluations and provide input on promotions, compensation adjustments, and disciplinary actions
Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain relevant professional affiliations
Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational goals
