We are seeking an experienced Accounting manager to lead financial operations for a growing, mid‑sized financial services firm operating within a regulated securities environment. This role offers a defined path to Controller, with responsibility spanning operational accounting, financial reporting (FINOPS), controls, and executive support.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on finance leader who combines strong technical accounting skills with the ability to partner closely with leadership on strategy and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own financial operations (FINOPS) including GL, month‑end close, and reporting
- Oversee accounts payable, payroll, commissions, and expense management
- Prepare management reports and financial statements
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial processes
- Support audits, compliance requirements, and operational requests
- Partner with executives on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
- Assist in scaling finance infrastructure and reporting
- Participate in succession planning toward CFO
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Experience at the Controller or senior accounting leadership level
- Financial services or securities industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills
- Payroll and commission accounting experience
- Willingness to complete a FINOPS assessment/test
- Clean background check and fingerprinting required
