Manager, Accounting
Artists First is looking for an experienced accounting professional with a combination of technical and operational accounting skills to expand its accounting team. Based in Los Angeles, this position will be focused on various accounting tasks and will be primarily responsible for providing accurate, timely accounting information to management and clients.
Responsibilities
· Oversee the accounting operations associated with processing all client receipts and subsequent payments to clients and 3rd party agencies/lawyers.
· Manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance explanations.
· Liaise with clients and managers directly on invoices, statements, tax matters, and any questions/concerns they may have as needed.
· Conduct ad-hoc analyses and perform special projects as needed.
· Proactively identify, recommend, and drive improvements in accounting processes.
· Oversee and manage 1-2 direct reports to ensure monthly financial statements are prepared timely and that client payments are processed quickly and accurately and in compliance with all legal and tax requirements.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
· Minimum 7-10 years’ relevant work experience with a strong knowledge of GAAP.
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
· Experience in the entertainment industry and with entertainment accounting preferred.
· Experience with the monthly closing process in a corporate environment a plus.
· Solid relationship-building skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
· A self-starter with the ability to work independently but also collaboratively.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
· Demonstrated ability to create processes and procedures.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles (Ex. Revenue Recognition)
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
· Proficient in all Microsoft Office products including advanced skills in Excel.
· Experience with financial & enterprise systems such as Sage Intacct a plus.
Pay and Benefits
$125,000 - $140,000 annual salary
