Job Overview
Our Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls of the organization. This role manages the accounting team, ensures accuracy and compliance across financial systems, and serves as a key financial partner to our CFO.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and monthly profit reports
- Maintain the company’s fixed assets and ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled
- Perform general ledger reconciliations including (but not limited to) AR, AP and designated GL accounts
- Prepare annual personal property tax declarations
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to management to support business decisions
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Analyze financial performance and recommend strategies to maximize profitability
Accounting Operations & Oversight
- Oversee the accounting team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance
- Ensure accurate accounting records and timely reconciliations
- Manage monthly commission statements, including calculation, review preparation, and submission to payroll
Systems & Administration
- Administer financial and operational systems such as: ERP, expense reporting, vehicle/fuel tracking, banking, sales
Policies, Procedures & Compliance
- Create, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors
Leadership & Team Management
- Hire, train, coach, and manage accounting staff
- Lead weekly meetings with direct reports
- Conduct monthly or quarterly one-on-one meetings with direct reports
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Accounts Receivable & Payable Reporting
- Monitor and report A/R aging and A/P aging
- Support cash flow management and collections efforts
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with ERP and accounting systems
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly
