Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager for a contract opportunity in the manufacturing/distribution industry. This role requires someone who can support the implementation of Sage Intact and leverage its functionality for cost accounting purposes. The ideal candidate can provide accounting expertise while supporting key financial operations and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining efficiency in month-end close processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Sage Intacct from an accounting perspective, ensuring a smooth transition and leverage its functionality for cost accounting purposes.
  • Oversee and execute month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, maintaining accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure financial data integrity.
  • Evaluate and refine the Chart of Accounts to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  • Generate financial reports and analyze data to assist in decision-making processes.
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with audits, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Leverage Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and report preparation.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Proven experience in month-end close procedures and account reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct (including participation in prior implementations) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prepare and review journal entries with precision.
  • Familiarity with financial statement audits and related documentation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments.
