Job Purpose

As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in leading core accounting operations related to gross profit (revenue and cost of services) and direct selling costs, as well as related balance sheet activity and other financial statement areas. The role will operate within a growing and dynamic finance organization and is responsible for overseeing month‑end close activities, reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial results.


The Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Accounting and will manage and review the work of a small team of accounting professionals. This role serves as a subject matter expert for assigned accounting areas, partnering closely with cross‑functional stakeholders and accelerating the delivery of meaningful financial information to non‑Accounting teams in alignment with the close process.


The ideal candidate brings strong technical and operational accounting experience, sound judgment, and a hands‑on leadership approach. This individual is detail‑oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment while maintaining high standards of integrity and accountability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly close process for assigned areas, ensuring gross profit, other relevant income statement activity, and related balance sheet movements are accurately recorded in accordance with US GAAP and company policies, while modeling a growth mindset through continuous improvement and thoughtful application of accounting judgment
  • Provide direct oversight of 2–3 team members, actively investing in their development by coaching technical skills, reinforcing strong accounting fundamentals, and providing regular, actionable performance feedback to elevate the team’s impact
  • Act as a change agent to drive improvements in account reconciliation and close processes, including incorporation of recommendations into ARCS optimization and enhanced account analysis practices, while encouraging team members to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and embrace change
  • Perform first‑level review of all work prepared by direct reports, including journal entries, account analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations, using the review process as a teaching and coaching opportunity to strengthen judgment, ownership, and consistency
  • Review and approve journal entries, ensuring appropriate support, clear account analysis, and proper documentation at the time entries are recorded
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure balances are accurate, complete, and well supported, and accelerate the completion of key account reconciliations to earlier in the close process
  • Ensure adherence to existing accounting policies, and contribute to the development, documentation, and refinement of policies and procedures as the business evolves
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned accounting areas, acting as the primary point of contact for questions from within in the Accounting and Finance organization, as well as from cross‑functional partners, including revenue operations and sales leadership
  • Partner with non‑Accounting stakeholders to accelerate the preparation and delivery of financial reporting, aligning insights and analysis more closely with month‑end close timing
  • Participate in monthly close and review discussions, including variance analysis and preparation of materials to support financial insight and decision‑making
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support timely completion of audit requests related to assigned areas
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed


Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • 6 – 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1 – 2 years of people management or lead experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, including revenue and cost / expense recognition accounting concepts, as well as financial close processes
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry review, and internal controls
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with reconciliation or close management tools a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner cross‑functionally and present information clearly to non‑Accounting stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgment, and drive continuous improvement
