POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Administration Manager to support both the firm and its portfolio investments. This is a split role between internal operations and hands-on accounting and administrative support across multiple portfolio companies.
The role offers broad exposure to private equity and small business operations, working closely with investment and leadership teams to support day-to-day financial activities, organization, and process improvement.
This is a hands-on, high-impact position ideal for someone who enjoys variety and working across multiple entities. The role is primarily office-based with light travel (~10 days per year) to support portfolio company operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and customer invoicing in a timely manner.
- Develop, document, and oversee standardized accounting policies and procedures to ensure proper records and strong internal controls.
- Manage and improve the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and identification of key drivers.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and present results to management and ownership.
- Develop and monitor cash flow management tools to ensure adequate liquidity and support ongoing operations.
- Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and cost-saving initiatives to support effective decision-making.
- Support deal and portfolio administration, including tracking key dates, deliverables, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate with external accountants on tax filings, audits, and review processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with banking partners, auditors, and other professional advisors.
- Handle general office and operational tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

EDUCATION & TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, regional accounting firm or larger is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); advanced skills in Excel are preferred
- Proficiency with QuickBooks preferred
- Comfort handling confidential and sensitive information
- Self-starter who can work independently
- CPA is a plus
- Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting is a plus
