Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in New York, NY. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, bank and account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities. This role will prepare and analyze financial statements, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support cash flow monitoring to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Accountant will process payroll-related data in coordination with HR, help maintain compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation. The role will also collaborate with operations and leadership teams to provide financial insights that support decision-making and the ongoing growth of the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and other spreadsheet and reporting tools.
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes, billing, collections, and vendor and client account management.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management to support financial planning.
- Understanding of tax, compliance, and audit support, including documentation, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in New York, NY, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in security services, facilities management, or a similar service-based industry is beneficial.
