Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Accountant role located in Phoenix, AZ, supporting our fractional CFO. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements and reports, performing journal entries, overseeing intercompany transactions, generating statements for property owners, and managing day-to-day accounts receivable and payable. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with relevant financial and industry regulations and standards.

 

Requirements:

  • minimum 3+ years bookkeeping experience with mastery of Quickbooks Enterprise bookkeeping platform (Quickbooks Certification a plus) and managing intercompany books
  • strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping payable/receivable principle
  • hands-on experience with preparing spreadsheets and presentation materials, compiling data and data entry, budgeting and forecasting
  • experience working with real estate and/or property management and Appfolio or similar platform a plus

  • 40 hours/week, must be able to work during office hours (M-F 8:45am-5:00pm, with a daily unpaid lunch break) - this is an in-office position


Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities may shift as we grow, but generally include

  • Reconciling multiple accounts monthly and performing double entry bookkeeping and maintaining accurate records for audit purposes
  • AR/AP transfers (paying vendor invoices, posting tenant rent payments and other revenue, etc)
  • Creating and sending monthly Owner Statements/processing payments to owners
  • Short-term rental taxes (TPT)
  • Property management deposit disposition
  • Property End of Management
  • Maintaining cash flow spreadsheet (templated)
  • Intercompany transfers
  • Processing agent commissions and employee payroll bi-monthly
  • Bookkeeping-related research requests
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards


Annual/as-needed:

  • Oversee 1099 preparation
  • Year-end owner reporting and end of year financial reports
  • Annual audit of insurance policies and vendors
  • Generate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
