About the Role:
This is a revenue-owning Account Manager position responsible for managing and growing existing shipper relationships. We are seeking experienced freight professionals who have worked directly with customers, understand market dynamics, and can confidently manage and grow a book of business. You will take ownership of established accounts, ensuring best-in-class service while identifying opportunities to increase volume, expand lanes, and introduce additional modes. This role requires strong pricing intuition, risk assessment, and decision-making ability in a fast-moving market.
What You'll Do:
- Own and grow assigned shipper accounts, with a focus on increasing revenue through additional lanes, modes, and opportunities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, building relationships through both virtual and in-person interactions
- Quote and price freight across spot and contractual business, balancing competitiveness with profitability
- Analyze market conditions and make real-time decisions on pricing, capacity, and risk
- Identify and execute on opportunities to expand within existing accounts
- Partner with internal carrier sales and operations teams to ensure high-level execution, while maintaining ownership of the customer relationship
- Maintain accountability for account performance, service levels, and margin growth
Who You Are:
- You have experience managing shipper relationships directly and operating at the top of the customer relationship
- You have owned or contributed to a book of business, with visibility into revenue and performance
- You are confident in your ability to quote freight, assess market conditions, and make pricing decisions
- You think beyond load execution and you focus on account growth and long-term partnerships
- You are comfortable communicating with customers regularly, including calls, meetings, and in-person interactions
- You bring a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commercial awareness
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in freight brokerage in a customer-facing / account management role
- Proven experience managing or contributing to a book of business
- Demonstrated ability to price freight and manage margin in dynamic market conditions
- Experience working directly with shippers (not solely carrier sales or back-end operations)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
