McPherson Strategies is seeking an Account Executive to join us on an initial 3-month contract basis, with the opportunity to extend into a permanent full-time role. We need someone who can hit the ground running — bringing sharp strategic instincts, strong media relationships, and the ability to drive real results for clients doing work that matters. This is a great fit if you're looking to prove yourself in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.


The role will encompass a diverse range of tasks tailored to individual client needs, including but not limited to:


  • Identify and execute opportunities to earn clients’ visibility — media placements, influencer engagements, conference pitches, and more
  • Contribute to strategic communications planning and help bring those strategies to life
  • Manage key implementation tasks: building media and influencer lists, conducting media and influencer outreach, identifying and pitching relevant conferences and events, drafting op-eds, developing social media campaigns, and more
  • Show up actively on client calls and keep account project management moving
  • Support new business proposals and firm marketing as needed


Key Qualities:


  • 4+ years in communications — agency experience a strong plus
  • A self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what to do
  • Sharp writer and clear thinker who presents information in a digestible way
  • Strong relationship management across clients, media, and external stakeholders
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Genuinely curious and plugged into the news cycle and media landscape
  • Comfortable working with a remote team
  • Deep care for social impact and the work of creating change
  • Bonus: Existing relationships in the social impact space
