JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

The Account Director is a senior strategic leader within an integrated marketing agency,

responsible for the overall health, performance, and growth of key client relationships.


This role serves as the primary strategic lead and trusted advisor to clients, ensuring that all

marketing initiatives are aligned with business objectives and executed with excellence. The

Account Director bridges client needs with internal capabilities, driving integrated strategies

across PR, digital, content, media, and creative.


This position plays a critical role in shaping and guiding account direction, ensuring the agency

delivers bold, effective, and results-driven marketing solutions while maintaining strong client

partnerships and internal team alignment.


CLIENT LEADERSHIP & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT:

> Serve as the senior point of contact and strategic lead for key client accounts.

> Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level client stakeholders, including

directors, VPs, and C-suite leaders.

> Provide strategic guidance that aligns marketing initiatives with client business goals and

growth objectives.

> Ensure client satisfaction through consistent communication, proactive problem-solving,

and delivery of high-quality work.

> Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand client relationships through deeper

engagement and strategic alignment.


STRATEGY & INTEGRATED MARKETING:

> Lead the development of integrated marketing strategies across PR, digital, content,

media, and creative disciplines.

> Translate client needs into clear, actionable briefs that guide internal teams.

> Ensure all work is strategically sound, insight-driven, and aligned with measurable

outcomes.

> Connect marketing efforts to performance metrics and business impact.

> Guide the development of cohesive, compelling, and aligned campaigns across all

channels.


ACCOUNT EXECUTION & OPERATIONS:

> Oversee execution of all client initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on

budget, and at a high standard.

> Manage scopes, timelines, and budgets across multiple workstreams.

> Ensure efficient allocation of internal and external resources to support client needs.

> Monitor account performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired

outcomes.

> Maintain a deep understanding of each client’s business, industry, and competitive

landscape.


LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION:

> Integrate with the account team members to foster growth and development.

> Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PR, creative, digital, and media, to

ensure integrated delivery.

> Provide clear direction, feedback, and prioritization to internal teams.

> Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

> Ensure alignment between internal teams and client expectations.


STRATEGIC CONTRIBUTION & INNOVATION:

> Bring strong client strategies to reflect market trends, emerging technologies, and

changing audience behaviors.

> Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and overall account

performance.

> Leverage tools, data, and insights to enhance campaign effectiveness and efficiency.

> Contribute to strengthening the agency’s strategic capabilities and integrated approach.

SUPERVISION DUTIES:

> Provides leadership, mentorship, and direction to account team members and

coordinates with internal and external resources.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge

> Deep understanding of integrated marketing, including PR, digital, content, and media

strategies.

> Strong knowledge of agency operations, client service models, and campaign execution.

> Understanding of how marketing efforts translate into measurable business outcomes.

> 10+ years of experience in an integrated marketing or advertising agency environment.

> Proven ability to lead client relationships and deliver strategic marketing programs.

situations.

> Strong project and financial management skills, including budgeting and resource

allocation.

> Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent

experience).


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

> Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires hand-eye

coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier,

telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.

> Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports, and computer

terminals. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use. Occasional high-

stress work may require dealing with clients.

> Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Is frequently

called upon to handle difficult situations.

> Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this person.

> Must handle novel and diverse work problems on a daily basis.

> Must be able to communicate, providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
