3rd Shift Controls Engineer

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support and improve manufacturing systems within a fast-paced production environment. This individual will play a key role in troubleshooting, programming, and optimizing automation and assembly processes across the facility.

This position will begin on day shift for training (approximately 1 month) before transitioning to a 3rd shift role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing execution systems (MES) by working across multiple levels of the organization to ensure smooth production operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine failures, including communication, documentation, and escalation support
  • Lead and verify safety circuit functionality, including light curtains, safety mats, and quality assurance devices
  • Develop and support operator user interfaces and integrate them into MES and CMMS systems
  • Assist with connecting and integrating new and existing equipment into MES systems
  • Maintain and manage backups for MES, PLCs, and robot software configurations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and flexibility
  • Program and integrate assembly processes within manufacturing facilities
  • Support quoting, procurement, and implementation of automation and process solutions
  • Configure and program new and existing equipment to meet production needs
  • Assist in defining wiring requirements for data collection and equipment integration
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineers and leadership on projects and system improvements
  • Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting and developing diagnostic procedures

Qualifications

  • Experience in controls engineering within a manufacturing or automation environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with automated equipment
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, and manufacturing systems integration
  • Familiarity with MES and CMMS systems preferred
  • Ability to work independently and support cross-functional teams
