Job Title: Woodworker

Job Description

This role involves hands-on carpentry and wood fabrication, with a strong focus on exhibit, trade show, retail display, and commercial millwork projects. The woodworker uses a wide range of hand and power tools to build, laminate, and finish components from materials such as plywood, MDF, laminate, acrylic, and other substrates. The ideal candidate reads and interprets fabrication drawings and plans, works efficiently to meet project standards and deadlines, and maintains a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders and fabrication drawings to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and finish components using materials such as wood, plastic, metal, plywood, MDF, laminate, and acrylic.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, including chisels, planes, saws, drills, routers, and sanders.
  • Perform laminating tasks to apply and bond laminate and other materials to substrates.
  • Use equipment such as table saws, routers, and other shop machinery safely and accurately.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications while adhering to deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members and support other departments when needed.
  • Work independently when required, managing time and tasks to complete assignments efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated carpentry and woodworking experience, preferably in exhibit, trade show, retail display, or commercial millwork.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools, including saws, routers, drills, sanders, chisels, and planes.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience working with materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, laminate, acrylic, plastic, and metal.
  • Knowledge and experience with pneumatic nailers and electric power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control to ensure efficient and accurate work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.
  • Capability to work efficiently to meet project standards and deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to be flexible and assist other departments as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, cabinetry, framing, or related woodworking trades.
  • Experience with millwork and cabinet construction.
  • Familiarity with table saws, planers, routers, and other shop machinery.
  • Experience with gluing and lamination processes.
  • Comfort working from blueprints and detailed fabrication drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, organized shop environment equipped with new and modern woodworking machinery and tools, including table saws, routers, sanders, pneumatic nailers, and other hand and power tools. Work involves handling materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, laminate, acrylic, plastic, and metal, with regular lifting of up to 50 pounds. The schedule offers flexibility on which days of the week you work, while still requiring reliable attendance and the ability to work both independently and alongside a team in a production-focused setting. Appropriate work attire suitable for a shop environment and safe tool operation is expected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
