Job Title: Welder/Fitter

Job Description

Join a diverse, high-volume manufacturing facility as a Welder/Fitter on the 1st shift. This role requires a highly skilled individual capable of working independently. Our Light Weld Department is the central hub of our production floor, supplying critical sub-fabrications that keep the entire company moving. You will be a highly capable, versatile Light Weld Fabricator who can seamlessly pivot between different types of projects to maintain overall company throughput.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and Flux welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum components, meeting the standards of AWS Codes.
  • Follow blueprints and engineering sketches to arrange and tack metal pieces before welding.
  • Weld in all positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead, with the ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Use metal saws or shears and a wide variety of tools.
  • Support daily throughput by contributing to different manufacturing lines, including Military Container Systems, Amerind Division, Seraphin Division, and Electrosteam Division.
  • Interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings for all product lines.
  • Fit, align, and weld pre-made components from in-house plasma tables, press brakes, and machine shops.
  • Perform standard leak tests on welded assemblies to ensure structural integrity and safety.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Welder/Fitter.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding on Aluminum, Steel, and other metals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with fitting, layout, and tack welding.
  • Ability to accurately use measuring instruments such as tape measures.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 1st Shift (6 AM to 2:30 PM) with overtime as needed, generally working until 4:30 PM, averaging 5-10 hours per week. The environment is non-climate controlled. Employees take pride in their long tenure and the quality of work produced. The role requires physical ability to frequently lift and move metal products weighing up to 50 lbs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mt Holly, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
