Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Job Description

This role combines warehouse operations, customer support, and general labor in a growing facility. The Warehouse Associate operates a sit-down forklift, loads and unloads trucks, assists customers in person and by phone, and handles basic data entry and order processing. This position is highly physical and requires regular heavy lifting while also supporting sales-related activities such as creating quotes and taking orders.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to load and unload trucks for customers.
• Perform all-around warehouse helper duties, including material handling, staging, and organizing inventory.
• Assist customers on-site by locating products, answering questions, and ensuring a positive service experience.
• Enter data from work orders accurately into the system and maintain up-to-date records.
• Create quotes for customers based on product and service requirements.
• Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory, process orders, and update stock information.
• Take in orders via phone or in person and ensure they are processed accurately and promptly.
• Answer phones as needed to support customer inquiries and internal communication.
• Drive a company flatbed stake-body truck when required to support deliveries or material movement.
• Regularly lift and move items up to 75 pounds as part of daily warehouse and loading activities.
• Load and unload barriers and barricades in an outdoor environment.
• Support a small, growing operation by taking on varied tasks and acting as a jack of all trades as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely for loading and unloading trucks.
• Experience with general warehouse labor, including material handling and inventory support.
• Capability to regularly lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Basic data entry skills to accurately enter and update work orders and order information.
• Customer service skills to assist customers on-site and over the phone.
• Comfort with using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory and order processing.
• Ability to create quotes and support basic sales-related activities.
• Willingness and ability to drive a company flatbed stake-body truck when needed.
• Flexibility to handle a wide variety of tasks in a small, hands-on operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a small warehouse or startup-like environment where responsibilities are varied.
• Experience in inventory support, order intake, and basic sales or inside sales activities.
• Strong work ethic and comfort working in a physical, outdoor-focused role.
• Adaptability to support different operational needs as the location grows and evolves.
• Interest in taking on additional responsibility and growing into a leadership role over time.

Work Environment

This position is based in a very hands-on warehouse and yard setting, with frequent work outdoors in hot conditions. The role involves heavy lifting, regular loading and unloading of barriers and barricades, and operating a sit-down forklift. You will work around trucks and a flatbed stake-body vehicle, using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and basic office tools for data entry, quoting, and order processing. The atmosphere is that of a small, close-knit operation where everyone pitches in across different tasks to keep the location running smoothly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $324.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Tampa,FL.
