Babcox Media Inc. (www.babcox.com), an Akron, Ohio-based B2B print, digital and video media company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, performance, collision, commercial fleet, transmission, engine building and tire industries, is seeking a full time Video Producer.
Babcox Media owns and operates more than a dozen market-leading media brands including but not limited to Tire Review, BodyShop Business, Shop Owner, Fleet Equipment, and Motorcycle & Powersports news.
The Creative Video Producer is highly creative and technically skilled to lead projects from concept through final delivery, combining strong storytelling with hands-on production and editing expertise. This role partners with internal teams and stakeholders to develop ideas, plan shoots, direct on set, and produce polished, high-impact video content across commercial, digital, and social platforms. The ideal candidate brings agency or commercial experience, a strong eye for cinematography and pacing, and the ability to translate business goals into compelling visual narratives while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities include:
- Assist with production of in-house video features, including:
- Custom video direction
- Video editorial/content planning
- Misc. video production responsibilities as assigned
- Setup and teardown of cameras, microphones, and props;
- Direct on-camera talent;
- Organization and cleanup of equipment and studio space;
- Editing captured audio and video into online features;
- Acquisition of photos, videos, and other images for features;
- Export and distribution of final video files;
- Collaborate with marketing and editorial team to deliver platform-optimized video content;
- Manages custom and brand series video projects;
- Coordinates with Freelancers on a project-by-project basis;
- Continue using AI tools to assist with scripting, storyboarding, and content ideation or with refinement of presentations, proposals, and pitch decks;
- Leverage AI tools to enhance ideation, editing workflows, and content;
- Utilize AI-assisted tools to improve workflow efficiency and organization by creating GPTs as additional support systems.
- Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience;
- At a minimum, 3 - 4 years of experience in video post-production;
- Strong understanding of cinematography, lighting design, and composition;
- Experience with cinema cameras, lenses, and audio capture in field environments;
- Strong technical experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere Pro and Photoshop are required. Experience with After Effects, DaVinci Resolve Color, Illustrator and Frame.io or similar review workflows is strongly preferred);
- Demonstrable video editing ability, with attention to detail, timing, pacing, and composition;
- Agency experience, or work experience creating commercials, social media content, or consumer facing content is a plus;
- Lead or collaborate on creative concept development, including campaign ideation and storytelling strategy;
- Develop scripts, shot lists, mood boards, and storyboards;
- Participate in client/agency creative discussions and pitch development;
- Translate brand objectives into compelling visual narratives;
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders (clients, account teams, creatives);
- Experience delivering campaign-based content across multiple formats;
- Audio production experience preferred;
- Trade/industry writing experience preferred;
- Experience with video distribution services (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), specifically the administration of accounts on such services;
- Experience with social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), specifically the administration of pages and accounts on such services;
- Understanding of audience targeting and content performance;
- Ability to optimize video for engagement, retention, and conversion;
- WordPress experience a plus;
- Ability to learn industry demographics and adapt to any changes;

- Computer proficient: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Mac OS X;

- Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and other tools as recommended as technology changes daily.
