Haydon Healy are representing a confidential data center operator seeking a vice president of construction to oversee major development, expansion, and delivery programmes across a growing portfolio.


This is a strategic leadership role suited to someone with deep experience in mission critical construction, data centre development, MEP delivery, and large-scale project execution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading complex construction programmes from early-stage planning through to delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially, on time, and to a high standard.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of major data centre construction and development programmes.
  • Oversee project planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Manage regional construction teams and provide leadership across multiple live and future projects.
  • Support site evaluation, development planning, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery strategy.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across commercial, operational, technical, and finance functions.
  • Provide senior oversight on project controls, cost management, risk management, and programme performance.
  • Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, vendors, and key project partners.
  • Drive consistency, accountability, and best practice across construction delivery.
  • Support the business in identifying and delivering future development opportunities.
  • Ensure high standards across safety, quality, commercial performance, and stakeholder communication.


Experience Required

  • Extensive experience delivering mission critical or data centre construction projects.
  • Strong background in MEP-led construction environments.
  • Experience leading large teams across complex, high-value construction programmes.
  • Strong understanding of development, design, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, contractors, consultants, and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, growth-focused environments.
  • Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and communication skills.


Desirable Background

  • Data centre development experience.
  • Experience within owner-side, developer, operator, or mission critical environments.
  • Degree-qualified in construction management, engineering, architecture, real estate, or a related discipline.
  • Senior leadership experience across regional or multi-site portfolios.
