Trust & Estates Legal Assistant
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Salary: $95,000 – $105,000 per year along with Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Time and Holidays, Healthcare, Dental and Vision
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Hybrid (4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote after 45 days)
LHH is working with a national law firm in seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling sophisticated real estate transactional matters. This is a key support role within a fast‑paced, professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with estate planning and trust administration, including document preparation, client communication, and case organization
- Draft estate planning documents, trust‑funding materials, and supporting transactional filings
- Assist with preparing quarterly tax payments, property tax payments, and insurance renewals for trust accounts
- Print, scan, proofread, and edit legal documents.
- Manage Excel spreadsheets for several trust account expenses
- Manage client communications and draft professional correspondence
- Collaborate with attorneys and team members while demonstrating strong independent work skills
- Scheduling duties, calendar meetings on Outlook, schedule appointments
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of Trust and Estates experience, with a strong background in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate
- Excellent administrative, organizational, calendaring, and follow-up skills are required
- Familiarity with CompuLaw is a plus (or similar calendaring system) but not required.
- E-filing and/or probate litigation and court filing experience is a plus
- Familiarity with iManage or similar document management systems is preferred
- Associate's degree or greater preferred
- Notary Commission is a plus and encouraged. All Commission costs are covered by the firm
