The Tutor Coordinator oversees and manages all aspects of tutoring services within the TRIO program or similar student support initiatives, with a primary focus on mathematics assistance for disadvantaged and at-risk college students. This role ensures the smooth operation of tutoring activities, maintains accurate and organized records, and fosters student success by effectively coordinating tutoring labs, supervising tutorial sessions, and supporting a structured, student-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities:- Knowledgeable in the course(s) to be tutored in (Chemistry, Math, English and other courses)
- An ability to plan and prepare tutoring sessions
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and program directors to support student academic success, particularly in mathematics.
- Identify and address barriers to learning in math for low-income or first-generation college students.
- Stay current with technological advancements and instructional strategies to enhance math tutoring services.
- Ability to use active listening strategies to allow students to determine content
- Recognize the different learning styles and student preferences
- Other duties assigned by the Director of TRiO, SSS Director and/or Dean of Student Affairs

Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. Ability to prioritize, attention to details. Proficiency in computer and office software applications.Associate’s degree required. Minimum of two (2) years of appropriate and relevant professional experience working in a TRIO federal program or similar related program for disadvantaged and at-risk college students.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology, Education, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
